Melt the butter in a large frying pan. Layer the onion, thinly sliced, partly-cooked sausages, rice, celery and kidney beans. Add salt, Worchestershire sauce and tomato sauce. Simmer, tightly covered on a low heat for 1 hour. Don not stir. Serve with crusty bread. Recipe by Mary Jackman
