Hodgins Sausages won gold for our traditional white pudding and silver for our traditional black pudding at the recent Blas na hEireann Food Awards that took place on Friday, 4 October. We would like to thank Blas na hEireann for this prestigious award and our customers for all your valued support. Another win for Hodgins Sausages!
Blas na hEireann, The Irish Food Awards is the biggest competition for quality Irish produce on the island of Ireland. Over 2,500 products were entered into the 2019 competition to win Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards in over 100 food and drink categories as well as key awards such as Supreme Champion and Best Artisan Producer.
The Blas awards are the biggest blind tasting of produce in the country, and the criteria on which the product is judged as well as the judging system itself, which was developed by Blas na hEireann with the Food Science Dept of UCC, is now recognised as an international industry standard.
Accepting these awards, Mervin Hodgins commented, “We were absolutely delighted to win the Gold award for our traditional White Pudding, and Silver for our traditional Black Pudding products” Mervin said. “For us, it’s all about quality and excellence and it’s fantastic for us and our dedicated staff to be recognised in this way.”. The #Hodginsnothingtohide handle sums it all up – there’s nothing nasty lurking in the Hodgins range, which is 100% Irish pork, sourced only from Irish farmers, and containing no MSG. “Only the very best of ingredients go into our black and white puddings”
Hodgins range can be found in Tesco, SuperValu, Dunnes Stores , Iceland and independent stores across Ireland.
